— Acknowledge taxonomic support visibly,
— Provide fiscal assistance where appropriate,
— Encourage taxonomists to be part of the problem-solving team, where possible.
4. Professional Scientific Societies:
— Provide mechanisms for communication between taxonomists and their clientele,
— Encourage quality publication and provide means for publication of major works,
— Cooperate in international activities, such as a directory of taxonomists, and explore new ways
of coopération with international organizations,
— Represent the professional interests of taxonomists, e.g. in terms of key questions such as
positions, salaries, technical support, etc.,
— Champion selected technical needs, e.g., voucher collections and computerization of collec-
tion resources,
— Not only encourage the présentation of formai resolutions and recommendations, but follow
up on implementation.
