His Stable, Followed by Those of MM.
James Hennessy and A. Veil-Picard
in Stakes Won.
The following racing notes are taken
from the “Jockey,” “Auteuil-Long-
champ,” “Criterium” and “Paris-
Sport” :—
Inclusive of the stakes won at Auteuil
yesterday, the following are the positions
of the leading owners of jumpers since
the beginning of the year : ,M. C. Lie-
nart, 215,57ofr.; M. James Hennessy,
164,265fr .; M. A. Veil-Picard, 146,955fr.
After her victory in the Prix Jackal
at Auteuil yesterday, M. C. Brossette’s
Ondee II. was claimed back by her owner
for 8,325fr.
Mr. W. Iv. Vanderbilt has declared
forfeit for all his horses in their Nice
engagements, also for those entered for
Saint-Cloud on March 13.
J. Bara has been engaged to ride M.
E. Levylier’s Antonello in the Prix des
Docks at Saint-Ouen to-morrow.
Mr. P. W. Roberts having ceded the
engagement of Hunter to Mr. Pfizer, the
horse will run in his new owner’s colors
in the Prix du Pas-de-Calais at Enghien
to-day.
M. H. Rigaud has secured second call
on the services of Lespinas, the jockey,
his first mounts belonging to M. Jean
Lieux.
Mme. Lemaire de Villers has decided
. to run both Regent’s Park and Ruthen
ium in the Nice Grand Prize. They will
leave on Tuesday by the special train, as
will also many other horses, including
Jj’Impetueux, Demon II., Opott, Fidelio,
Bibre, Holly Hill and Baldaquin.

Lloyd’s agent at New York cabled yesterday that
the steamship Charlemagne Tower, Jr., has sunk.
Twenty-one of the crew were saved.
The British steamship Montauk Point is aground
eight miles from Emden, says Lloyd’s Agency.
There is a good chance of refloating.
The American barque E. C. Mowatt has been aban
doned and set on fire, says a Lloyd’s message from
Havana. The crew was taken off by the Spanish
steamship Alfonso XIII. and landed.
The British steamship Marathon arrived at Natal
yesterday with damage to boilers, says Lloyd’s
Agency.

Saint-Cloud on March 13.
J. Bara has been engaged to ride M.
E. Levylier’s Antonello in the Prix des
Docks at Saint-Ouen to-morrow.
Mr. P. W. Roberts having ceded the
engagement of Hunter to Mr. Pfizer, the
horse will run in his new owner’s colors
in the Prix du Pas-de-Calais at Enghien
to-day.
M. H. Rigaud has secured second call
on the services of Lespinas, the jockey,
his first mounts belonging to M. Jean
Lieux.
Mme. Lemaire de Villers has decided
. to run both Regent’s Park and Ruthen
ium in the Nice Grand Prize. They will
leave on Tuesday by the special train, as
will also many other horses, including
Jj’Impetueux, Demon II., Opott, Fidelio,

Lloyd’s agent at New York cabled yesterday that
the steamship Charlemagne Tower, Jr., has sunk.
Twenty-one of the crew were saved.
The British steamship Montauk Point is aground
eight miles from Emden, says Lloyd’s Agency.
There is a good chance of refloating.
The American barque E. C. Mowatt has been aban
doned and set on fire, says a Lloyd’s message from
Havana. The crew was taken off by the Spanish
steamship Alfonso XIII. and landed.
The British steamship Marathon arrived at Natal
yesterday with damage to boilers, says Lloyd’s
Agency.
