*°) ),Pyramidographia: or a Description of the Pyramids in Aegypt. By tohn Greaves, Professor
ofAstronomy in the University of Oxford. London, Printed for George Badger and are to be
sold at his shop in St. Dunstans Churchyard in Fleet-street 1646". Le frontispice porte en outre
une citation des ~Observationes" de Bellonius, lib. 2, cap.

cet auteur dit: ~After that t had entred into Aethiopia, and foure timestravetiedaiiover
Aegypt, and had left nothing unhandled, neither the Pyramids, nor Temples, norchannels, and
partly had procured out of their writings such measures as might be had, and partly with the
Priests had measured such things as were not obvious, yet could 1 not preserve them intire for
thee, seeing the Books, which thy servants by my appointment transcribed, have perished".
by Diodorus". Il visita lui-méme les pyramides en togg et 1630 ~carrying with me a radius of
ten feet most accurately divided, besides some other instruments, for the fuller discovery of
thé truth".

") Savoir: filius Cheopis.

~) Après avoir traité ,,of the authors or founders ofthe pyramids" Greaves a un chapitre de 26
pages ~on the time in which the Pyramids were built".
il conclut que Cheops ~began his reigne (he reigned fifty yeares) t2o6 [yeares] befbre the be-
ginning of the yeares of our Lord".

Huygens ne dit rien du chapitre ,,0f the end or intention ofthe Pyramids, that they were
for Sepulchers. Etc.
